About
For mental health care for young people and adults in Berkeley and across Alameda County, Sutter Alta Bates Summit Medical Center: Behavioral Health Center of Excellence is here to help. Our Behavioral Health Center offers psychiatric care, including partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs, and our teen and adolescent units support children and teens going through serious mental health struggles, including eating disorders.
Families and patients tell us that our staff are gentle, supportive and compassionate, and that they make a hard time feel safer and more human. Our nurses, aides, occupational therapists and clinicians work together closely, keep families informed, and treat every patient with respect, including those who identify as transgender.
Our programs include group sessions and activities that help patients build connection and confidence while they recover. We are proud to serve families across Berkeley and the East Bay during some of the most difficult moments in their lives.
