About
Oakland families and animal lovers in the East Bay turn to Oakland Animal Services for adoptions that match pets with the right homes, with care and guidance at every step. Our team takes the time to learn about each animal, from how it gets along with kids, cats and other dogs to what it needs in a home, so adopters can feel confident about their choice.
We work closely with reputable rescue partners and a network of foster families to coordinate transfers and give animals a second chance to thrive. Our staff and volunteers are known for being friendly, responsive and genuinely invested in every animal in our care.
Whether you are welcoming a new companion into your family for the first time or adding to a household that already has pets, we are here to make the process simple and rewarding.
