About
East Bay SPCA Oakland Adoption Center brings adoption, animal care and behavior support to Oakland and the East Bay. We are an animal shelter and animal protection organization in the Coliseum Industrial Complex neighborhood of Oakland, serving families across Alameda County.
Our team takes time to explain each animal's needs and history, so adopters know what to expect before they bring a dog home. A behaviorist on our staff can talk through a dog's specific challenges, and that guidance stays available after adoption by phone or email.
We keep our facility clean and our kennels well maintained, and we care for animals with compassion, patience and attention to their medical needs. Our volunteer and education programs also help our community support animals beyond the shelter, including dog training resources.
