About
Based in Newark, Alonso academy provides Brazilian jiu jitsu, boxing and kickboxing classes for families across Newark and the wider Alameda County area. Our classes welcome kids, youth and adults, and we keep a high coach-to-student ratio so every student gets clear, patient guidance.
Students often tell us the atmosphere is what sets us apart: it is family oriented, welcoming and genuinely fun for kids, with parents encouraged to watch and get involved. Beyond technique, our coaches focus on building self-defense skills, confidence and good advice for everyday life.
Newcomers are welcome to try a course before committing, and our veteran students are happy to show you the ropes while still bringing real intensity when it's time to spar.
