At T'chaka a Taste of Haiti, we bring the flavors of Haitian and Caribbean cooking to Oakland's Old City neighborhood and to diners across Alameda County who want a taste of home-style comfort food. Our oxtail is slow-cooked until it's tender enough to fall right off the bone, and our legume stew tastes like something cooked in a family kitchen, served with rice and beans.
We fry our akra and whole snapper to a crisp outside with a tender inside, and pair them with pikliz and fried plantains. Our ginger sorrel is refreshing and never overly sweet, and our team is known for being warm and attentive, guiding guests through the menu when they're trying Haitian food for the first time.
