At Shaolin Life @ Deep Root Center for Spiritual Studies, we help adults and children in Oakland's Hawthorne neighborhood and across the East Bay build strength, flexibility and inner calm through classic kung fu and qigong. We teach martial arts as a way of living, not just a set of techniques, so every class balances physical training with mindfulness and personal growth.
Our instruction is calm, warm and patient, and we take the time to make sure each student understands the why behind every movement. Many of our students come to us during difficult periods, and we meet them with openness, frankness and steady encouragement.
