About
Oshiro Karate Dojo is a karate school in San Mateo focused on authentic Okinawan karate and kobudo training. We teach Shorin Ryu Okinawan karate along with Yamanni Ryu kobudo, the traditional weapons style, giving students a complete grounding in the art.
Our classes build more than technique, with a focus on discipline, hard work, respect, and balance that students carry into everyday life. Students of all ages, including families across San Mateo and the Peninsula, find lasting friendships and steady strength through their training.
Our instructors are dedicated to passing on traditional methods with care and patience, and many of our students have trained with us for years. Our in-person karate and kobudo classes are open again, and we invite you to visit the dojo or contact us to start training.
