El Tacostao brings authentic Mexican tacos, from classic lengua and cabeza to less common cuts like cheek and sesos, to Fitchburg in Oakland. Guests find the consomé, a rich beef and rice soup with deep, balanced flavor, a standout, and the birria, horchata and fresh tortillas are part of the experience too.
Our tacos are made to order in a small, cozy hut, and the service is quick and friendly. Diners can eat in the dining room or on the covered patio, and on weekends our backyard terrace opens up for a relaxed, off-the-beaten-path meal.
