About
Berkeley and East Bay families turn to Berkeley Animal Care Services for dog and cat adoptions that come with thoughtful, personal support from start to finish. Our shelter is a place where people looking for a new companion can find dogs, cats, and sometimes small animals like bunnies and guinea pigs, all cared for in clean, well-kept kennels.
We take the time to ask about your home, your experience with pets, and what kind of companion would suit your life, and we encourage you to spend real time with an animal before it goes home with you. Every animal is vaccinated and spayed or neutered before adoption, and we send you home with the health information you need to settle your new pet in.
Many of our adoptable animals arrive as strays or are surrendered locally, so each one has its own story, and our team is glad to help you find the right match.
Browse available animals and start your adoption through our website, or stop by the shelter to meet them in person.
