Bench Café • Pâtisserie is a neighborhood café in Berkeley focused on carefully made coffee, tea and freshly baked pastries. Our small, cozy space sits just outside Downtown Berkeley at the corner of MLK and University, and we're glad to welcome students, remote workers and neighbors from across Alameda County and the East Bay.

Every day we bake a range of sweet and savory pastries, from scones and cakes to cookies and our spinach feta empanadas, to pair with espresso drinks, matcha lattes and our house-made syrups. Our baristas take real care with every cup, and we work to keep the atmosphere warm, bright and inclusive, with light, greenery and music in the background.

Upstairs and downstairs, we offer plenty of table space, outlets and free wifi, so it's easy to settle in for a quiet morning or an afternoon of reading or work. We're also proud to offer a student discount, because supporting the community we're part of is at the heart of what we do.
